Size Profiles

When choosing a color flake design, size truly makes an impact. Color flakes are available in six standardized size ranges, including: Original (1”), 1/2”, 1/4”, 1/8”, 1/16”, and 1/32”. Each size profile uniquely influences the appearance of the overall décor. Larger flake sizes are more random in shape and offer a broad range of dimensions, whereas smaller flakes become more consistent in shape and size as they are reduced. Each size is customizable in color, blend, and texture.

The Flooring Process

The process of applying a vinyl flake epoxy flooring system involves multiple steps. The concrete substrate is primed and sealed, then receives an application a pigmented basecoat, next is a polymer layer of 100% solids broadcast with flakes. Finally, one or two topcoats of clear UV resistant 100% solids epoxy are then applied. These topcoats create an abrasion-resistant, easy-to-clean surface. Before installation, flooring experts consider humidity and temperature conditions, ensuring proper application.
